With your hosting account, you receive multiple POP3 email accounts. If you are the site’s postmaster (the person who administers the site’s email) the information in this section will help you set up new mail accounts on your domain. You can receive mail through software on your local computer, such as Outlook or Eudora, or you can access email from the internet, using WebMail.
In order to use a client like Outlook or Eudora, you first have to configure email on our servers. The administrative site is used to create new user email accounts, or modify existing accounts, or delete email accounts.
Access Your WebMail Administration Console
The Webmail Administration Console allows you to setup and configure your POP3 email accounts and more.
First, in a web browser, navigate to the following URL:
http://mailadmin.yourdomain.com
Substitute your own domain name in the above example.
Setting up new email accounts requires only minor configuration.
Follow these steps.
- Login to http://mailadmin.yourdomain.com using your administration email address and password.
- Select ‘New User’ from the menu to the left.
- Fill in the form with info for the new user (note: the small ? in the blue circle in the top right corner has extensive on-line help).
Basic info explaining the form fields appears below:
| Field |
Description |
| Alias |
A unique identifier of the account in the domain. This is the user's alias which is usually the same as the username. Alias is the first part of the email address.
Example: To setup the email address support@icewarp.com enter the name "support".
Multiple aliases can be used by separating them with semi-colon:
support;help;bugs;info |
| Username |
This is the identification name of
the mailbox. It is usually the same as
the primary alias of the account.
Usernames are used for all
authentications to WebMail services. It
defaults to the same as the alias but
does not have to. |
| Full name |
The real name or an identifier of
the account. Fill in anything. |

The password for the mailbox. If you
want to be sure you entered the password
properly repeat the entering process in
the confirmation field. WebMail will
automatically compare both. |
| Comment |
You can specify some short
commentary for any account. |
- Select OK
- Set-up another new user and or Logout
All the remaining information in the other top tabbed menu options (Menu, Options, Miscellaneous, Responder, etc.) should typically be left at default values.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Should I Forward Email?
You should avoid setting up forwarding email accounts – instead use a
static route. Static Routes are simply aliases which are able to receive mail and perform a predefined action directly on the server based on whatever filter mechanisms are configured. This is a simplified version of a forwarding mechanism. It should be used instead of forwarding mail to avoid filling up the mailbox.
Are there limitations to POP3 accounts on my domain?
Yes. You are limited to a specific number of POP3 accounts, depending on the features of your website hosting package. All packages have additional email account options and you can order more at any time. To do this, please contact us using the form on the
General Inquiry section of this web site.
Are there Email Name Restrictions?
Yes. The names "root" and "postmaster" are reserved for the system and are subject to some limitations. The name "root" is reserved by the operating system and cannot be used at all for email purposes. The name "postmaster" is for use by your mail administrator (usually yourself) for receiving managing your email accounts, handling misdirected mail to your domain and to receive alerts regarding abuse or other mail related events.
If you have any questions about setting up you email accounts, and cannot find the answers here, please submit a Support Inquiry/Message to us on the form on this web site.
